Cococure · The Sound

Afrobeats
in London.

The sound of Lagos, Accra and London — and the venues that give it a proper home.

Afrobeats stopped being a niche a long time ago — it’s the sound of London’s weekend. Cococure has been at the centre of that story: three venues programming Afrobeats, amapiano, bashment and Afro house every single week, with dining and day parties built around the culture, not bolted on.

Questions,
answered.

What is Afrobeats?
Afrobeats is the umbrella for contemporary West African pop — Nigerian and Ghanaian sounds blended with amapiano, dancehall and UK influences. It powers every Cococure night.
Where can I hear Afrobeats in London?
Cococure programmes it every weekend at TWNTY7 and Haus in Stratford and Cité in Aldgate — club nights, brunches and day parties.
Do I need to know the music to enjoy the night?
Not at all — the rooms carry you. Come for the energy; the DJs do the rest.
What else gets played?
Amapiano, bashment, hip-hop, R&B and soca — each night’s event page lists the sound.

This is the culture.
