The Night

What To Expect

Some nights you plan. This isn’t one of them. Thursdays Don’t Count is one night told in three acts — a slow ride through the sounds of the diaspora, every Thursday at TWNTY7 Stratford.

Act one: the oasis. We open on amapiano at a crawl — log drums and slow BPMs with room to breathe. This is the shisha smokers’ oasis: clouds rolling, frozen cocktails in hand, the kitchen running hot. Sink into the seats, sway easy, ride the beat gently, get a game going with your table and enjoy some food, some cocktails, and life in general. No rush. Nowhere else to be.

Act two: the lift. As the night picks up, Afrobeats takes the wheel — upbeat bangers stacked back to back until the lounge can’t hold you any more and the dance floor does. This is where the swaying stops being gentle.

Act three: the fantasy. When the night is at its deepest we slow it right back down into a dancehall fantasy — basslines low, lights lower, bodies closer. The best slow whine in East London, until late.

  • Every Thursday from 11pm till late
  • Amapiano → Afrobeats → Dancehall — the night moves in that order
  • Electric shisha oasis, frozen cocktails, late kitchen & table games
  • No dress code — come as you are. 18+ with photo ID
