Cococure started in 2007 as an opportunity for members of the Imperial College London & University College London Afro-Caribbean Societies to network and mingle. Back then socializing between students and alumni was almost always done in the confines of the talking section of the library. The events were held primarily on Bank Holiday Sundays in London and over the Christmas break in Lagos, Nigeria.
Lagos Fridays was born
The Cococure brand took this elite group of people and together with London’s most exquisite venues, threw some incredible events. Unknown to this group of budding intellectuals, this was to be the birth of something bigger. 2014 marked the begining of a weekly friday night “LagosFridays” which filled a gap that was missing for a while. It also saw affluent africans partying together in London’s lush venues. Culminating in a mention in a standard article abtly titled : Rich, urbane and entrepreneurial: meet Africa’s new super-rich with a taste for the London lifestyle
New Year New Beginnings
In 2016 Cococure moved to a new home at Proud City Cabaret. With a new venue the concept of Cirque du Lagos was born. A club night fused with an African-style Cirque du Soleil, designed for sensory pleasure. Join us in embarking on this journey to uncharted territory it will surely be a delight.
